I've been following Polly Vadasz on Twitter for a while now, and I remember seeing the tweet that announced the opening of her online phone case shop like it was yesterday. Over a year on, she has now expanded her range to include pocket mirrors, makeup bags, mugs, notebooks, and stickers. I put off ordering from her as I was nearing the end of my phone contract and in October when my brand new iPhone 6 was delivered, I knew I was about to give in.
My first order was the Scattered Gems case, (£14) and the moment it arrived I knew I was going to love it. The quality of the design (printed in the UK) is phenomenal and the texture is not smooth and slippery like I'd expected but matte, providing quite a good grip. However, my case was a little loose, with my phone slipping up and down in the case if I pushed it. This wasn't a deal breaker, as I knew my phone was still completely secure. I kept the case on my phone for a good few months before changing to another of Polly's designs.
My second order was of three products: the Rosy case (£14), the Cross Stitch case (£12.50), and the Cross Stitch makeup bag (£16). About a week after I had placed my second order my delivery still hadn't arrived and since I remembered how speedy Polly's delivery usually is, I fired off an email just to make sure that everything was in order. Polly replied within twenty four hours just to let me know that my phone cases had been shipped, but that due to a problem with her makeup bag stock (logo labels missing) they had been sent back to the supplier and should be with me within the next few days. As always, Polly's customer service was second to none, and makes ordering her products an even more lovely experience.
Due to the slight looseness of my first case, I was heritant to order another, but I decided that the first case must have been faulty and took the risk. Thankfully, I was right, and the other two cases fit perfectly. Both have the same matte print as the Scattered Gems case, and are just as easy to hold firmly onto. The colours on the Rosy case are vibrant, especially the gorgeous red colour, and the trippy pattern of the Cross stick case kept me occupied for a good ten minutes as I tried to work out how I was seeing white dots where each of the black lines crossed.
As much as I adored my gorgeous new phone cases, the real star of the show is the Cross Stitch makeup bag. I had been looking for a pretty place to store my makeup when on the go for a while, but everything sold in high street shops like Primark and Boots seemed to be just not long enough to fit my assortment of brushes, as well as wide enough to accommodate my various blushers and bronzers. Amazingly, Polly's makeup bags do both. They're even large enough to hold Urban Decay's Naked Palette!
They're made from a shiny, plastic material that is very easy to wipe clean, and I was delighted to discover that when a bottle of water leaked in my handbag the makeup bag kept all of my precious cosmetics dry, as well as later ensuring that the contents of my handbag remained foundation-free when I had a cracked bottle. The design is striking and matches several of Polly's other products, like pocket mirrors and MacBook skins, including the phone case that I also treated myself to, and the price is very reasonable considering the incredible amount of work that Polly puts ino her shop. Really, what else can you ask for?
