Ultrabland is a thick, waxy cleanser that you melt into an oil between your fingers and rub into your skin until all of the makeup and everyday grime is removed. The back of the tub says that using nothing but Ultrabland for one month will bring problem skin back into balance and at first I was skeptical of this claim, but now that it's been part of my skincare routine for nearly three months I find I completely agree.
The cleanser almost melts all of your makeup off, leaving a rather disgusting layer of wax the colour of all of the makeup that's been removed. Lovely. I wouldn't recommend being around anyone other than your nearest and dearest during this step, as it honestly looks horrible. However, when you wipe off all of the gunk with a damp flannel you find incredibly smooth and clean-feeling skin underneath. I then repeat this process, making sure that I've got absolutely everything off. I follow this up with some toner and lots of lovely moisturiser. The cleanser can also be applied thickly as a mask before a shower, to be removed afterwards, which I have yet to try but am very excited to do so.
Although this is an oil-based cleanser, it doesn't make my oily T-Zone any worse, and it doesn't dry out my parched patches. I'm blessed with clear skin, thankfully, but I find that it works as both a prevention and a cure for problems such as spots and blackheads (more so for spots, but after the first use I noticed a massive improvement in both the frequency and severity of blackheads), and really is a great all-rounder. I'm sure it'd work wonders on much more problematic skin, and it's definitely something I'd try if you're someone who struggles with their skin.
Let me just say that Ultrabland does not smell particularly nice at all (I feel like it might be the beeswax), but I actually quite like the scent as at least it means that there are no unnecessary perfumes added. Even if I didn't like it this would not be a deal breaker, as the results are more than worth putting up with it for a few minutes per day.
You get 45g for £7.25 or 100g for £11.50. I use a lot of the stuff and 100g lasts me three months, and I use tons of the stuff, more than once a day on occasion. Considering how much many people pay for cleanser these days, Lush's offering is super affordable and well worth the price. I would happily pay way more for it.
The tub says that Ultrabland is the Lush founders' number one desert island products, and I have to say that I agree. I'm in love.
If in doubt about whether or not this product is right for you you can, as with any of their products, pop into any Lush store and ask one of their incredible team for a recommendation.

I love Ultrabland! Isn't it so surprising that what feel like an oily product can actually make you less oily? My holy grail skin care product would have to be Ocean Salt though, makes my skin amazing!
